Ironically this month would have seen the ordered and controlled removal of a majority of these trees over the next few months,as advised by a specialist survey, however such was the damage we are now left with few undamaged trees and those that are left are compromised by the fact that they are shallow rooted and no longer supported and covered by the rest of the trees. Newholme continues to function as before ,with however, small restrictions to the garden while felling and clearing takes place. The weather however has not been conducive to strolls in the garden at the moment! Below are some of the pictures taken recently that shows the extent of the damage to the trees. We must hasten to add that none of these trees have hit the house which continues to function as normal.

We expect to have the Garden in full working order by the first week in February, and will report on progress before that happens. The up side of this storm damage is the garden will now get much needed light into the areas that require more growth and will bathe the house in late evening sun for the first time in 30 years. We hope to plan new plantings more appropriate for urban gardens over the next few years.
