Stirling and Scotland play host to a number of top Arts and Entertainment events every year. Here we tell you a little about some of our local and national attractions for all ages. You may wish to plan a stay at Newholme in conjunction with some of these events. Where tickets are required, we would be happy to advise clients of how to get them, especially our clients from overseas.
Doune and Dunblane Fling: A family day out held just outside Stirling at Doune Castle. this year is a medeival theme and will be held on 28th May 2006.
The Scribblers Picnic: A music and arts fun day out held in Stirling each year in memory of a local musician and writer. The event attracts many musicians, bands and artists and is all done to aid a number of cancer charities.
Stirling Highland Games: There are a number of Highland Games events throughout the area in summer, but the local ones are to be held at Bridgehaugh Park Stirling on the 2nd Sunday in July every year. Read more at stirling-highland-games.co.uk.
Edinburgh International Festival: featuring the Festival Fringe, Film festival, Book festival and spectactular fireworks display. This annual arts extravaganza brings tourists to Scotland from all over the world. Accomodation can be difficult in Edinburgh and Newholme is only 40 minutes by Train to the heart of the action. Monty Python Festival: Again held at Doune Castle (which featured in the movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail), is sure to be a fun packed day for all Python fans, and their offspring!. Tickets are required in advance and are limited to 500. Call (+44)131 668 8926 for details. September .
Christmas At The Castle: A Christmas festival at Stirling Castle .
Stirling’s Hogmanay: Fireworks, music, bands and street entertainment and a hugely impressive fireworks display, see Stirling into a nrw year. Some events require a ticket for access in advance.(Castle Esplanade activities).
